What Is Hypnosis ?

Hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness through the power of focused suggestion. During hypnosis you will relax the conscious part of your mind and re alert your sub- conscious. The conscious mind is our awareness at the present moment, for example we are aware of our surroundings, our breathing and the people or things around us, whereas our sub- conscious mind consists of accessible information, information we only become aware of when our attention is directed to it. For example, how many times have you driven or walked home from somewhere familiar like work or a friend’s house without having to ‘consciously’ navigate the way? It is in this hypnotic state that a person is better able to respond to suggestions, therefore helping you to change or heighten certain behaviours such as stopping to smoke, nail biting or the ability to have more confidence or less anxiety. 

  • You will always be aware of what I’m saying or what is happening.
  • You will NOT be put asleep.
  • You will be able to move.
  • You will NOT say or do anything you don’t want to do or say.  
  • You will remember the session afterwards even if you think at the time that you don’t.

What happens during a Hypnotherapy Session?

Once you arrive and get comfortable we discuss together about why you have come to see me and what you would like to achieve from hypnotherapy and possibly from each session if more than one is required. We will set an achievable goal from the discussion we have. We will also talk about hypnotherapy, the process, and I will answer any questions you have surrounding this. 

I will make sure that all client intake forms and contracts have been signed and answer any questions you may have about these. 

Because all clients have different needs I would have already started my session plan from the information I have received from you previously to you turning up. But a session structure would go similarly to this. After you agreeing that you would like hypnotherapy I would guide you into hypnosis using hypnotherapy relaxation techniques. Once I feel you are sufficiently relaxed and in hypnosis I would you use the hypnotherapy techniques designed to guide you towards your goal. Once this is complete, I will bring you out of the relaxed state to full alertness. We will then do a summary of the session and answer any questions you may have, although I will be very cautious about discussing the hypnotherapy as I this can un pick the good work that your subconscious has done during the session. I will then book in another session if not already done so, and look forward to seeing you again.

During this whole process I will not be ‘doing anything to you,’ rather we will be working ‘together’ to help you. 

What Is Reiki ?

Reiki has been around for thousands of years. But Mikao Usui, was the founder of a form of spiritual practice known as Reiki, used as an alternative therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional, and mental diseases.

There are many amazing benefits of Reiki. Reiki can help with, improving your energy levels, the stresses of daily life and manage a wide range of health conditions, including stress, anxiety, depression, pain, sleep , stop smoking and even weight loss. Just to name a few. Reiki helps to promote harmony and balance, it’s a non-invasive energy healing method that enhances your body’s natural healing ability. Reiki works directly on the problem and condition by using mental and emotional balance. Reiki is very relaxing and helps release stress and tension, which is why many people enjoy Reiki as it allows time for themselves where you literally have to do nothing except relax and enjoy the peace, warmth and light. Reiki treatment brings a more peaceful and calmer state to a person. 

Reiki can heal mental and emotional wounds by alleviating your mood as well as, fear, frustration, anger and more. Reiki not only strengthens but enhances your ability to love not only yourself more, but other people around you, and helps your relationships grow. Reiki can help you get better sleep, Reiki is very relaxing, and when the human body is more relaxed, it sleeps better, and when we sleep better, we feel better about ourselves, our bodies heal and we think more clearly. Reiki helps to relieve pain and supports the body’s physical healing process. People sometimes experience physical sensations such as feeling tingling or changes in the temperature, seeing colours, feeling light or heavy within the body, feeling sleepy or relaxed. Others may not feel any sensations at all which is completely fine.

Reiki will always work in the best interest of all. Distant Reiki healing is not a problem for Reiki. I will act as a conduit, and tune into the healing energy of the person it is being sent to, and then it flows through the energy currents that exist naturally. The same way that distance isn’t a problem for phones or the internet.

Distant Reiki sessions work because energy is not limited by distance. Benefits of receiving Distant Reiki is

  • You don’t have to leave the house
  • You don’t have to get dressed, or get ready, or even brush your hair to go out
  • You won’t have to talk to anyone

Distant Reiki sessions will usually last for about 30 minutes and we can arrange a time which is mutually convenient for both of us. All that is required is that you get yourself into a relaxing, peaceful place, whether that’s lying down or sitting, but somewhere where you are not going to be disturbed. Distant Reiki does not require any internet or phones, it is simply delivered using the practitioners (me) intention to send it and the clients (you) intention to receive it.

What Is EFT/TFT Tapping ?

EFT stands for emotional freedom technique, and TFT stands for thought field therapy. They are both tapping techniques that use Meridian points to help resolve mental, physical and emotional healing, by simply using your fingers to tap on specific pressure points to stimulate them.

The only difference is, with TFT the client taps while they think silently about the problem, whereas with EFT the client verbalises the problem while tapping. Meridians are pathways that our energy or ‘chi’ (as it is referred to in Chinese medicine) flows through. Negative thoughts and emotions can cause blockages in our flow of that energy, causing health problems such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks and even physical pain.

With EFT, by tapping on the different meridian points (pathways) and using a script to focus your intention, you transmit signals to your brain, enabling you to release the blocks and get your energy moving again. This eases negative emotions and relieves your pain. Whereas with TFT you tap on your Meridian points while focusing your thoughts on the issue that brought you to therapy, also easing negative emotions and helping to rebalance the flow of energy.

Both techniques work, it just depends on what the client feels more comfortable with doing.
